Politehnica’s first-choice goalkeeper of the recently concluded season, Rareș Murariu, has signed a new contract (for two years) with the white-violet team.

He was born on 5 April 1999 in Mangalia and played his junior football at the Hagi Academy. Since 2018 he has transferred, first on loan, to Politehnica Timișoara. He has also played for CFR Cluj, for whom he also defended in a Ligii I play-off match, coming on as part of a 2-0 win over FCSB to become national champion.

In the 2022/23 season of the Second League he played in 14 matches for Poli.
