Politehnica Timişoara called the gathering today, June 23rd, at “Ştiința” Arena, in order to approach the 2021-22 season. 34 players participated in the first training session under the command of the new Coach, Dorin Toma.

“We made a first contact with the players, the atmosphere is positive, we are trying to make the best decisions on some players during these days. The first days are centered on the players from the Youth Academy as we want to choose the best solutions for the Under 2001 and Under 2003 positions. On Saturday, there will be a school-game as we’ll have to make decisions on some players to continue training with us or not. It will be three hard days with the players trying to adapt to the heat outside and give their best. Numerically, we are a small group so we’ll try to bring in valuable players in the following days to strengthen the squad for this new season. There are eight players who left the club, Ivanovici also left yesterday, so their number has increased. With those who are remaining with us, we’ll build a basic nucleus to some extent, to be able to complete the actual group. There are still discussions with Pamfile, there are still discussions with Romario Rus, who still has a contract. It was a discussion, we asked for the players to be present in the actual group as we don’t want them to rush in making decisions: we need them, they are good players who were here and know each other very well”, Dorin Toma concluded.

Pavle Radunovic, Stjepan Plazonja, Otto Hindrich, Sergiu Popovici, Jose Casado, Ionuţ Coadă, Ionuţ Cioinac and Petre Ivanovici are no longer part of the group with which Politehnica ended last season. This way, we thank everyone for their contribution to the results of the white-violets in the 2020-’21 edition of League 2.

The actual players present at the reunion were: George Păduraru, Călin Jurj, Nicolae Sofran, Denis Radu, Ioan Mera, Cristian Scutaru, Cristian Bocşan, Claudiu Pamfile, Alexandru Munteanu, Dorin Codrea, Romario Rus, Doru Andrei, Alin Ignea, Alin Manea, Mircea Axente, Tudor Moţiu, Robert Ehling , Lucian Gologan, Alexandru Gașpar (players who were part of the group last season, the last four being also juniors from our own Academy); Dragoş Coroiu (Dumbrăviţa), Fabio Trip (Lipova), Răzvan Piţigoi (Ghiroda), Raul Vidrăsan (Ungheni), Vlad Bîte (Fortuna) (players returned from the loan to other teams).
