Politehnica Timișoara football club drew in a white draw in the match played in League III. In the 7th round, the score against Viitorul Arad was 0-0.

In the 26th minute, Marincu shot from the box, but poorly into the goalkeeper’s arms. Ten minutes later, Istratie, alone with the goalkeeper, was on the verge of opening the scoring. The guests replied through Gavrilă, who shot from the box, after a mistake by the Polish defense, but the junior goalkeeper Enășescu defended (min. 40). 0-0 at half-time.

Prună had the first goal-scoring chance of the second half in the 56th minute, when he sent just wide from just outside the box following a personal move. The biggest chance of the match came in the 71st minute, when Istratie’s header was cleared off the goal line by an opposing defender. Viitorul tries from distance through newcomer T. Bodri (89). Goal scorer Istratie has another chance in 90+4 mins, but his shot from the box, from the short corner, goes wide. 0-0, final.

Boosted by a South Lawn that gave a new recital of color and light, Cristi Gălan’s boys failed to win against a solid and well placed opponent. The veteran Vezan, a 39 and a half year old starter for the Arabs!

In the standings, Poli remains in 5th place with 10 points.

We had chances to score. But unfortunately we missed from very good situations in the first half and in the second. Really we didn’t create as many situations as in other games, but we had a pretty consistent game. We dominated the game, we just lacked the deep play, the final pass, we lacked those things. Because the opponent got down low in their own half from the start, and we didn’t have the clarity to be able to break the opponent open and then the shots were fewer on goal.

I have nothing to reproach them for, because they wanted to, they tried to play what we usually play. Maybe they could have played a bit faster, yes. But depending on the pitch, depending on the opponent, the decisions they make, all these factors… then maybe our game was a little bit slow, maybe we could have had more speed. But that’s all we could do today. I’m very sorry because the crowd was admirable and sang from the first minute to the last minute. And we didn’t manage to raise ourselves a little bit to that level. We could have done more, though,” said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii.
