We fought until the end: Politehnica – CS Mioveni 2-2
Politehnica approached the game with CS Mioveni, from the ninth round of the League 2 play-off, only with the thought of victory. The white-violets fought admirably and led twice, but each time they were tied and the final result was 2-2 (1-1). The goals of our team were signed by Petre Ivanovici and Alin Ignea.
The white-purples started the game very well again. The score was opened in the 16th minute by Petre Ivanovici. He scored from a free kick, from about 23 meters, from the central position, with a superb shot in the left corner of Iustin Popescu. The guests then returned to the match. The 23rd minute brought an incursion into our box, ending with a completion far over Blănaru’s goal. So that three minutes later Mioveni would equalize after a fixed phase. From Coşereanu’s execution, the ball reached Vereş, who dribbled inside and his shot was slightly deflected to Păduraru’s left.
The second half was also one with a good start for the white-violets. Radunovic took the lead 55 minutes into the game, making the score 0 – 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. Ignea was the scorer. At 2-1 the guests returned to the offensive. Also after a fixed phase, Garutti equalized again for the guests at a cross from the corner by Massaro. In the last minute of extra time Ivanovici was close to a new free kick, but goalkeeper Iustin Popescu rejected and the referee blew the final whistle a few seconds before the expiration of the three minutes of extra time indicated from the edge.
Politehnica will play in the last stage of the play-off (X) on the field of FK Csikszereda. The white-violets have accumulated 40 points and are in 6th place.

“We have no chance to promote now, I’m sorry, because we played a good match. It was a good match, both on our part and on the part of Mioveni, on a difficult field. Unfortunately I scored two goals in two fixed moments. But all in all, I congratulated my players, because today they made an effort and I think they made a good match. Mioveni is a very organized team, not coincidentally until now three stages were on the 2nd place. I am disappointed that we did not achieve our goal, but I am happy for those from Rapid, Romanian football needed Rapid in the first league. I looked good in this play-off, paradoxically, much better than in the regular championship, I had many very good matches, except for the one from Mioveni… I had a good period, I played on a par, even better than the Danube at Calarasi, we had Rapid in hand here, we played well at Buftea with Rapid, you know very well the history of the match… We should not have reached extreme situations, but in the vast majority of this play-off we showed that we deserve to we play in the playoffs, we have shown that we are one of the teams that can beat anyone. The small details made the difference… Manea’s bar from Călăraşi, Bocşan’s elimination in the 17th minute and also with Rapid we had 1-0 in the 87th minute. And with one point we would have been ahead, but I think the two, Rapid and Craiova, they deserved to be promoted… We were the younger ones, who, compared to them, we invested very little. I congratulated my players, because we managed a semi-performance, unfortunately we did not achieve our goal and I am disappointed from this point of view “, said Dan Alexa, the head coach of the Politehnica.
