“We go to the Chiajna with the clear thought of getting a point or points!”
The white-violets have the last exam in the first part of the championship on Sunday. Politehnica proposes a positive result in Chiajna, in the duel with Concordia, in order not to depend on the results from other stadiums.
The calculations for the play-off remained complex even after the penultimate round of League 2, the one in which our team stayed, no less than 11 clubs have claims for a finish in the Top 6. “Indeed, we are a lot of teams, they anything can happen in the last stage. We go to Chiajna with the clear idea of getting a point or points. We had that semi-failure at Pandurii, unfortunately, our problem throughout the year – we do not succeed or very rarely we managed to tie two victories. But we’re confident, it’s the last game of the regular season. Of course, we still have a good chance of reaching the playoffs. But, we have to show that we are a team that is fighting for promotion, we have to look good and I am confident that the players who will enter will do absolutely everything to win”, said Dan Alexa, the head coach of the Politehnica.
Regarding the special playing conditions in this trip, the white-violet technician specified: “The synthetic field does not benefit us, but we have to adapt, because that is the conditions. We meet Chiajna, a team that has changed a lot for the better, with very good players, they haven’t lost at all since the beginning of the year, it’s definitely a difficult match”.
The whole Politehnica team is valid for this important match. “There is no absence, we have the whole valid lot. I am suspended, I found out today that I am suspended for three stages. I made a mistake and for that I pay (…) I have a staff that I trust a lot, I know exactly how I think and I am convinced that they will be at the highest level”, Dan Alexa added. The main coach of our team was eliminated in the game with Pandurii Tg. Jiu.
“We also have important chances if we lose at Chiajna, but I don’t want to see that in my players. I want to see determination, I want to show that we are a team that has led or has always been in the first three or four teams of the championship and we must respect our coat of arms, to go there as an experienced team, playing for a goal . We should not expect help from others”, concluded the coach of the Politehnica.
The Concordia Chiajna – Politehnica Timişoara match will be played on Sunday, March 28, at 15.00 (televised – Digisport 4), simultaneously with all the other matches of the 21st round of League 2 (last of the regular season). Before this stage, the white-violets are tied for points, at the head of the hierarchy, along with no less than three other formations (U Craiova 1948, Viitorul Pandurii and Farul, all 32 points). The team from Ilfov County ranks 14th, with 21 points.
