Politehnica Timișoara resumes in two days the League 3 championship with a trip to Arad county, on the field of Viitorul. There are only three rounds left in the regular season and the white-violets are in 4th place before this game, with 25 points, while the hosts from the “Banatul” stadium are in 6th position, with 19 points, and have only mathematical chances to reach the play-off.
“We are looking forward to the resumption of the championship because we have been preparing for this game for six weeks already. For sure it will be a tough game because it is the first game after the training period and always games after the training period are difficult because you might not have the same rhythm. The opponent might have a different line-up because they have made transfers and they look different from last season, but we are confident that we have done things well this season and we are going there with good thoughts. Viitorul will probably try to play, as they also have a team with quite a lot of young players combined with experienced players. Probably being at home they will want to win, for sure there will be a lot of people at the match because it is still Arad county against Timis and always these matches gather a lot of people. We expect quite a difficult game”, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii.
The white-violets’ coach of course expects the supporters to be Politehnica’s 12th: “I expect our supporters to be in a good number, considering that they were also in Kikinda in large numbers last week. We were happy to have them in the stands and to see them in Serbia, for sure they will be with us in this game as well and will give us the energy to win this game”.
Poli is not without medical problems ahead of this match. In addition to the absence of Aurel Vlaicu (suspended for accumulation of yellow cards), Denis Boariu is doubtful and Alex Militaru has not yet returned to training, having been affected by a bad cold. “We have medical problems, with Boariu, who has just entered training, we have medical problems with Alex Militaru, who after the event of the demolition of the Dan Paltinisanu stadium stayed at home with a severe flu, he has not yet come to the field. Otherwise, slight knocks, but nothing important. Only the three who won’t play or maybe on the bench will be Boariu and the rest won’t play”, concluded Cristi Gălan.
The match ACS Viitorul Arad – Politehnica Timișoara will be played on Saturday, March 1, at 12.00, at the “Banatul” stadium in the district of Sânicolaul Mic, and will be broadcast live on FRF.tv (requires the creation of an account, which is free). The game counts for the 16th round of League 3, Series 9. In the first leg, at the “Electrica” arena, the match between the two teams ended 0-0.
