Politehnica Timisoara returns to the south-east for the fourth time this season. After the championship matches in Călărași, Techirghiol and București, the white-violet team plays now on the field of the revelation Unirea Slobozia for a place in the Romanian Cup’s optimums!

“Once again we have a long and hard trip ahead of us. With a team, Unirea Slobozia, good in the championship, with a very good run so far and of course we won’t have an easy match… Unfortunately the last game left us again a bitter taste, a game that we could have managed completely differently, but unfortunately we saw ourselves defeated again at the end. We don’t have the best morale at the moment, but we have to get over it, the players are strong and by the time of the Cup game I hope they will recover. We take the match and the opponent seriously and we will try to line up the best team for this game”, said Dorin Toma, Politehnica’s head coach.

“Naturally in Cup matches we give minutes to other players, but for us the important thing is to get over these failures in the last minutes as soon as possible and to play a good game and also to homogenize the squad. We will make changes only if there are problems with some players or if some of them are feeling after the championship game”, said the coach of the white-violet team.

Sebastian Serediuc and Denis Radu remain the definite medical absentees from our team, while other players have suffered minor problems, but it is hoped that they will recover by match time. The white-violets will make the trip this evening by air.

The match Unirea Slobozia – Politehnica Timisoara will be played tomorrow, 22 September, at 16.30, in the round of 16 of the Romanian Cup. In the previous round, the Yalomians overcame CS Năvodari 6-0, while the white-violet team beat Șoimii Lipova 2-1. Both teams played against League 3 teams. Adrian Mihalcea’s team is in 7th place in the championship with 12 points.
