Politehnica Timisoara called the assembly today at the locker rooms of the “Dan Paltinisanu” stadium to tackle the “spring” season of League 3. The first training session of the year 2025 took place on the synthetic surface at Politehnicii’s Base 2.

The training was attended by 30 players, four of whom come from outside our club, while three others are juniors from our own nursery – Academia Politehnica Timișoara – who did not make contact with the senior squad in the first part of the season.

“Happy Happy New Year! We start first of all with the thought of consolidating what we have worked on in the first part of the championship. And we have been looking better and better because we ended the year with some very good games and we want to do the same again. And, on top of that, we want to bring in more players from the academy, to be able to put them in contact with the senior team… Plus a few players who wanted to start training with us. We’ve already had Alex Militaru, who trained with us for a month before the vacation, and we hope to sign him and keep him. We’ve already seen him for a month and we think he can be part of this squad and even help, to add value to the team. As for the rest, academy kids and players who wanted to be with us. The squad was quite small in terms of numbers, we will see the level of the players who are coming in this period to see them and after that in probably two weeks we will have a clear squad with which to start the next part of the championship”, said Cristian Gălan, head coach of Politehnicii Timisoara.

There has been a change in the announced schedule of training games, as the Serbian team Radnicki Zrenjanin has postponed the game originally scheduled for February 1. “Six friendlies set, that’s how many we wanted, but this morning we received a phone call from Zrenjanin that they have some problems within the club and will have to cancel the game. And so, from that moment we have been making phone calls to try to find a new opponent, although we know that it is very difficult because most of the teams have made their program, but we hope to succeed!”, said Cristi Gălan.

From the first training session of the new year, defender Alex Nagy (studies) was absent, motivated, while the collaboration with midfielder Cristian Grancea was finalized.
