Another overall positive weekend for the Polytechnic Academy juniors. If the U18s got off to a bad start (and) the play-out, in the Elite League our teams started the play-off with wins on two tough fields. Poli U17s defeated the leader of the West Series – Universitatea Craiova, while Poli U16s defeated UTA again and reached five consecutive wins in the championship.

Another great success for Politehnica’s U17s, winners in Craiova in the first round of the West Series play-off. After the draw in the first part of the championship against the leader from Dolj (score 3-3), the players coached by Cristi Gălan showed that the last results are not at all accidental and now they won 3-2 against the University. The hosts opened the scoring in the 20th minute, but Aurel Vlaicu equalized after a quarter of an hour. In the second half an own goal (62 min) and Marco Lazăr’s goal (71) brought Poli U17 closer to victory. Oltenii scored once more in the 84th minute and Ed. Tudor, who had just joined the white-violet team, was sent off for a series of cautions, but our boys held out until the final whistle came after many minutes of extra time.
